February Inspiration Team Reveal at APOS!

So for this month over at APOS!we were given a plain canvas apron and asked to spin our magic!

at first i thought what in heck am i to do with an apron!! how do i go about decorating it? Alissa (the owner of the store who i love to refer to as my 'dealer') suggested i visit Donna Downey's site and see what she has created.
Well i did and though i like her stuff but it really isn't my style or the kind of thing i would create.
So then i thought why not look at it as a large canvas, make it into a piece of art. make it something that says Diana's style.
okay i said to myself what would be the first thing a great artist would do, well cover it with GESSO of course and then what.. well let us add a bit of Tim to it... oh and some funky flowers... and finally i found a place to put those wonderful dodad's i had purchased eons ago!!!
i added a bit of ribbon which i had stamped with script and some staz-on ink, glimmermisted the heck out of and then layered it with some crinoline and some tulle and i sewed!!! i haven't used a sewing machine in forever!!!! the brads that were included in our inspiration team package were a little too pink for me so what did i use to diminish the pink, a little bit of alcohol ink!!!!
and what project would be finished really with out a bit of grunge!!!!  i ran the grungepaper through the tattered floral die cut and then the swirls embossing folder and then distressed with some ink and finished off with a bit of glimmermist!!

and TADA!!!! my very first of many designer aprons. i printed off and altered a bit the Ranger logo and printed it off on to a piece of sticky back canvas.. i am such a RangerU wannabe!!!!! the stamp on the tim tag is a Studio 490 stamp; it too is printed on to sticky back canvas

i think that is it. thanks for stopping by and taking a peak
til next time...

HAPPY SCRAPPING!!!

  1. You'll have to frame this apron - you could certainly never wear it and risk messing up the art! Just wonderful!
